FISHING AT DELAWARE SEASHORE STATE PARK

Look at that sunset! This is a common evening miracle and one of my favorite reasons for coming back year after year. The sunsets at the campground are out of this world beautiful and you ought to see it here on a moonlit night. Night fishing is a favorite with the campers, especially the ol' time fishermen. During slack tide, on a full moon night, you wouldn't believe how many people are fishing along the rail or out on the jetties.

This was also taken along the rail in the campground, and the young man in the picture is casting his net for bait fish which are called Mullet. Mullet and other bait fish and bait crabs are easily accessible within the campground. My husband and I seldom buy bait anymore, because it's too much fun catching it ourselves. Me personally, I like fishing for the bait more than fishing for the fish. I also enjoy hardshell crab trapping and oyster raking, which is another enjoyable passtime with the campers. You can't crab right here at the campgound, but there are some great crabbing spots just minutes away.

I almost forgot "Overflow Camp" (pictured above). "Overflow" is also a part of Delaware Seashore State Park, but it is on the North side of the Indian River Inlet. "New Camp" and "Old Camp" are on the south side of the inlet. "Overflow" is usually chosen by people only when "Old and New Camps" are full, but I don't know why, because I really like it there. It doesn't have hookups or bath houses, but if your camper is self-contained it's an ideal spot if you like lots of privacy. It's very secluded, except on weekends in midsummer, and then "Overflow" is quite busy.

By the way, tenters are welcome in both "Old and New Camp", but no tenting permitted in overflow.

AND PETS ARE ALLOWED IN ALL THREE AREAS....on leash, of course.

Well, that's all for now, because Register.com only allows me 3 pages per domain name. I have other pictures scattered around the net under my other domain names, so if you follow ALL the links below, you'll find them. LOL

There is also a link below to the "Official Website" of "Delaware Seashore State Park". Click on it for reservation and price information.

See you at the campground!
